
Matt Doyle is currently the Chairman of Texas First Bank, Texas First Insurance, and Texas Independent Bancshares.
An Eagle Scout, Doyle was raised in Texas City and graduated from Texas City High School. In 1980, he graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelors’ Degree in Finance and began his now 45-year career in banking. Mr. Doyle was named one of Ten Outstanding Young Americans in 1994 and one of the Five Outstanding Young Texans in 1993.
Doyle had a career in public service for 28 years, serving as Mayor of Texas City for 16 years.
Mr. Doyle is a past Board Member of the Independent Bankers Association of Texas and a former member of the Leadership Division, serving as President in 1990. He is a past Board Member of the Independent Community of Bankers of America and past Board Member of TIB Dallas. Doyle was elected and served two terms as a Member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Board of Directors from January 2001 to December 2007, and is a former Member of the Board of Directors of CBG Holdings, Inc.
Doyle currently serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Galveston Central Appraisal District and as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Galveston Bay Foundation.
One of his greatest achievements was marrying the former Debbie Faulkner of Abilene, Texas. She is also a Texas Tech graduate. The couple resides in Texas City and have two children, Sean (wife Megan) and Erin (husband Justin). Mr. Doyle and his wife have a granddaughter, Emma Kate, and two grandsons, Kasen Thomas and Joseph Patrick. Doyle enjoys ranching, hunting and fishing in his free time.
