
Dr. William Pate was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. He and his family have lived in Galveston County since 2013. Dr. Pate is the Associate Vice-President of Environmental Health & Safety at UTMB Health and serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the UTMB School of Public and Population Health. Dr. Pate holds two master’s degrees and a doctorate in Public Health with a focus on Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences, along with several board certifications. In 2024, Dr. Pate was appointed as Chair of the Texas Radiation Advisory Board by Governor Greg Abbott.
In his free time, Dr. Pate enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, both at home and while traveling. He looks forward to representing Galveston County residents on the GCAD Board of Directors, with a focus on ensuring transparency and accountability while maintaining efficient and effective operations.
