GCAD BOD Chairman
Mr. Gartman has been the Chairman for the Galveston Central Appraisal District Board of Directors since 2018. He is a veteran, a seasoned Utility Industry Executive with 36 years of experience, including 32 years in major managerial roles with one of the largest utility companies in the United States.
He also has extensive Board and Community Leadership experience with service on numerous Board of Directors, including:
- College of the Mainland
- Texas First Bank
- Three Rotary Clubs
- Galveston Chamber of Commerce
- United Way
- Port of Galveston
Mr. Gartman has served on various other civic, business, and nonprofit boards, demonstrating a strong commitment to community development, economic growth, and public service. Lastly, he served 10 years as Chairman and President of the following Galveston County-based organizations:
- Galveston County Economic Alliance (GCEA)
- GCEA Foundation, Inc.
- Galveston County Small Business Development Center
